Chand Bhai - Catla, murrel/snakehead and other carps.

Dear Friends,

Let me introduce you all with our friend and team member Mr. Chand bhai aka Chand bhai batterywale.

He is a very humble and seasoned angler with repute. With him he has record of catching huge fishes, specially carps like Rohu, catla, mirgal at Umada Sagar - a freshwater lake on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

He also has good record of catching Murrels / Snakehead. Have a look at the images and you'll know it.

He has more than 4 decades of experience in Angling. For us he is like a senior and guide.

I am trying to put few of the snaps from his album. Very soon i will post more pictures about his catches.

Cheers

Fishing at Hyderabad - Fishing tackle advice.

Dear Friends,

If you're planning for a fishing trip to Hyderabad, here are few tips that might be helpful while you're fishing here.

For spinning team we suggest the following tackle. They can target Snakehead & Catfish (wallago attu). For details about these fishes you can view my previous posts.
  1. Fishing reel size needed - 3000 - 4000
  2. Rod - 6.5 -7 ft - medium action.
  3. Line : 12-15lb mono
  4. Lures - all types of spoon, spinners & few rapala rattlers.

For Bait Casting we suggest the following tackle. You can target Rohu & Catla. These two fishes are from carp family and are excellent game fish. Flour bait is used for these two species. For rest of the fishes you can use earthworms which are loved by almost all types of fishes.
  1. Fishing reel size needed - 4000-6000
  2. Rod - 6.5 -7 ft - medium action.
  3. Line : 15-25lb mono
